About the position
You will pursue an R&D project focusing on the attitude determination and control system of the Oasis spacecraft, a low-cost free flying microgravity research platform with a return capsule. Your goal will be to define an overall system architecture, select off-the-shelf components to achieve the required functions, and propose algorithms to achieve the necessary attitude control functions with minimal hardware. You will work with spacecraft design engineers in the team to refine mission-level needs into specific technical requirements for ADCS components, and integrate your work within the overall spacecraft design. You will have real ownership of the problems you work on, while you are supported by a team with a track record of delivering spacecraft on record timelines.
Responsibilities
- Refining ADCS requirements for the Oasis spacecraft.
- Defining system architecture concepts for ADCS on board the Oasis spacecraft and performing trade-off studies.
- Selecting off-the-shelf components for the system.
- Developing lightweight ADCS algorithms for the Oasis spacecraft.
What we’re looking for
- Being ambitious, kind and ready to learn.
- Knowledge of spacecraft ADCS principles.
- Experience with navigating complex technical requirements.
- Working proactively and reliably in a dynamic environment.
- Readiness to take ownership, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Bonus points for
- Experience with developing hardware or software for satellites.
- Portfolio in DIY or volunteer projects related to space systems.
