About the position

You will pursue an R&D project focusing on subsystems of the Oasis spacecraft, Tumbleweed's low cost free-flying microgravity research platform with return capability. Depending on your specific profile and preferences, the project may focus on areas such as electrical power, structural design, or propulsion. You will be expected to refine technical requirements regarding your area of focus, perform trade-off studies and develop prototypes by working hands-on. You will have real ownership of the problems you work on, while you are supported by a team with a track record of delivering spacecraft on record timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Refining technical requirements for the Oasis spacecraft.
  • Developing subsystem architecture concepts and performing trade-off studies.
  • Performing advanced analysis and simulation tasks regarding spacecraft subsystems.
  • Designing and prototyping spacecraft components.

What we’re looking for

  • Being ambitious, kind and ready to learn.
  • Experience with developing hardware for aerospace or motorsport applications.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft design challenges.
  • Experience with navigating complex technical requirements.
  • Working proactively and reliably in a dynamic environment.
  • Readiness to take ownership, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Bonus points for

  • Experience with developing hardware for satellites.
  • Portfolio in DIY or volunteer projects related to space systems.
